Last August, I had the pleasure of styling bridal hair for a beautiful wedding at Sedgewell Barn in North Yorkshire, a stunning countryside venue with ponies and sheep, glamping pods and open fields, perfect for relaxed yet elegant festival style barn weddings.

Sedgewell Barn in North Yorkshire's rural setting, rustic charm, and open surroundings make it an ideal choice for couples looking for a laid-back Yorkshire wedding full of character. When it comes to bridal hair, barn venues like this work especially well with soft boho styles that feel soft, romantic and natural, while still holding their shape throughout the demands of a warm festival themed Wedding day.

I met Kendra last April for her Bridal Hair trial. Kendra chose a timeless, soft loose boho chic bridal hairstyle that really suited both the festival setting and her overall florally wedding look. The style was designed to feel effortless and relaxed while also being secure enough to last from morning preparations right through to the fun evening celebrations — something that’s especially important for countryside weddings where weather and movement can play a part. To ensure her hair stayed beautiful I used L'Oreal pli to set the waves then dressed out with L'Oreal smoothing cream, and Moroccan Oil finishing spray to give a flexible, shiny long lasting hold.

For this wedding at Sedgewell Barn in North Yorkshire, I worked alongside Paula Pace Makeup Artist who created the bride’s bridal makeup. I also styled Kendra's lovely bridesmaids - opting for similar looses waves that paired beautifully with the hand made flower crowns cleverly made by Kendra's talented mum. This special Wedding had been a real family effort, with Kendra's daughter Ami making a spectacular wedding cake and Kendra baking the other sweet treats. I think they did an amazing job.

After I had finished putting in the last flower crown, adding finishing touches to Kendra's hair and makeup - we had a little explore of Sedgewell Barn's beautiful ceremony room, lit with candles and styled with beautiful sunflowers.

I loved the overall vibe of Kendra and Tim's Sedgewell Barn, North Yorkshire festival themed wedding All the details, the atmosphere, the gorgeously decorated VW camper van and all the hard work they had put into the day were nothing short of special. I would love to come back again sometime soon for more festival Wedding hair styling at this special wedding venue. It’s the perfect venue for a festival styled wedding with plenty of space for lots of guests to enjoy and bands to set up.

I’d highly recommend for brides looking for a festival countryside barn setting with plenty of charm.
